Town of Pictou ends Fiscal year in the Black

Oct 20, 2020 | Local News

The town of Pictou’s finances remain in good health. Last night, council approved the final audited statements for the fiscal year which ended March 31st. The numbers show an increase in the town’s overall surplus, about $140,000 less net debt, and more than $43,000 put into operational reserves. Mayor Jim Ryan says this is good news.
Ryan says while COVID-19 has introduced some uncertainty into how the current fiscal year will play out, they are still predicting another small surplus.
