Town of Pictou receives funding to assist in Revenue Lost to Pandemic

Jan 19, 2021 | Local News

The town of Pictou has received just over $120,000 to help offset some of the revenue lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The money has come through the Safe Restart fund. Mayor Jim Ryan says the money came through the assistance of the Nova Scotia Federation of Municipalities. Now the question is what to do with the money.

Ryan says that municipal CAOs are meeting on January 27th to learn more about what the Safe Restart funding can and cannot be put towards, so they will decide where to allocate the money at their next meeting of council.
