The Town of Port Hawkesbury had a successful launch of Pride Month.
At last night’s monthly public meeting, Mayor Brenda Chisholm-Beaton called the June 1 event at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre “wonderful and vibrant.”
The event featured a Pride Flag raising in the front of the Civic Centre, a Pride Walk on the Active Transportation Trail along Reeves Street to Grant’s Pond, then a “Fountain of Love” celebration at the fountain at Grant’s Pond.

The town is inviting members of the public to paint a rainbow rock to place at or near the foundation throughout the month of June and the mayor invited members of council to decorate rocks, adding there will be a decorating session on June 8 at 4 pm.
