Trinity United Church in New Glasgow received a $40,000 grant through the RBC Barrier Buster Grants Program presented by the Rick Hansen Foundation to support an accessibility improvement project within the church’s Sanctuary.
The project, Opening Doors at Trinity: Building an Accessible Community Space , will support the installation of a modern, self-operating accessibility lift and related improvements designed to provide independent access to the Sanctuary for people with mobility challenges.

A release from church administration states the accessibility improvements will benefit congregation members, community organizations, performers, volunteers, audience members, and visitors who use the sanctuary space throughout the year. Trinity regularly hosts the New Glasgow Music Festival, community choirs such as the Trinitarians, New Glasgow Youth Choir and the Carillon Singers, and other public events bringing people together from across Pictou County and beyond.
