Two More Deaths from COVID-19 in Nova Scotia, Eight additional Cases of the Virus detected

Provincial Health officials are reporting two more Nova Scotians have died from COVID-19. Both

deaths occurred at the Northwood long-term care home in the Halifax Regional Municipality.  That raises the total number of deaths from the virus in Nova Scotia to 24.

There have been 10 licensed long-term care homes and unlicensed seniors facilities with cases of COVID-19, involving 197 residents and 95 staff.

There are eight new cases of of the virus, all in the Nova Scotia Health Authority’s Central Zone.

To date, there are 873 cases of COVID-19. There are 13 people in hospital, three in intensive care.

The province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Robert Strang says we are continuing to see the devastating impact this virus can have. He urged Nova Scotians to stay strong and stay the course. He says we can and should enjoy the outdoors this weekend and do it safely by staying in your yard, walk around your neighbourhood and keep your distance from others.
