Two New Glasgow residents facing Drug Trafficking, Production and Possession Charges

Police have arrested two New Glasgow residents after a pair of drug seizures Monday.

Around 9:30 Monday night, members of the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with assistance from New Glasgow Police, searched a home on Skylark Street in New Glasgow following a lengthy investigation.
Officers seized a quantity of methamphetamine, marijuana and cannabis resin. Police also arrested a 37-year-old New Glasgow woman.

A short time later, police stopped a car on Main Street, and seized a quantity of methamphetamine and a prohibited weapon. Officers arrested a 38-year-old New Glasgow man.

Both face charges of trafficking methamphetamine, production of cannabis resin, and possession of marijuana. The woman faces an additional charge of assaulting police, while the man has also been charged with possession of prohibited weapon. Both remain in custody and will appear in court at a later date.
