Two People in Pictou County Arrest on Impaired Driving Charges

Pictou County RCMP arrested two people for impaired driving on the same day.

At around 2:15 p.m. on September 3, Pictou District RCMP received a number of calls of an erratic driver. Police located the vehicle on Highway 104 near Exit 19, and located a vehicle that was driven off road into the center median of Hwy 104. Police arrested the 33-year-old male driver from Truro for impaired driving. He faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit. The driver is set to appear in Pictou Provincial Court on November 25.

At around 10:00 p.m. on the same day, police received a complaint of a possible impaired driver the heading East on Highway 104 between New Glasgow and Antigonish. Police the vehicle on Hwy 4 in Egerton. Following an investigation at the scene, police arrested the 22-year-old female driver from Pictou County for impaired driving. She faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and driving with a blood alcohol level above the legal limit. She is scheduled to appear in Pictou Provincial Court on December 2.
