New Glasgow Regional Police say two people have been taken to hospital after a stairwell collapsed at an 
apartment on Washington Street.
Police were alerted of the incident shortly before 8 this morning. A 44-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A second person, a 7-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital in Halifax with serious injuries. The cause of the collapse has not been determined.
