A pair of StFX students presented their research work to a national conference earlier this
month.
Megan Fraser and Ella Maltby took part of the 46th Canadian Ecotoxicity Workshop in Quebec City from October 6-9. Both students have the same supervisor, Jim Williams, who felt it would be a good idea for Fraser and Maltby to attend as their research was relevant to the topic. Fraser’s research looked at Boat Harbour remediation while Maltby’s research looked at the toxicology of the American lobster.
Fraser said it was an interesting experience.
Maltby, who is new to the field of ecotoxicology, said it was good to attend and receive feedback from experts in the field.
Both students recommended students get involved in research early in their academic careers as it can open up a lot of opportunities.
