Pictou East MLA Tim Houston is the new leader of the Nova Scotia PC party after the party’s
leadership convention over the weekend.
The Pictou East MLA said it was a long campaign and he and his team decided to stick with a handful of ideas which are doable but yet substantial around topics such as education, the economy, and health care. He called the election an exciting time and a good day for the party.
As for what’s next, Houston said the plan is to make sure the party is united and ready to move towards a general provincial election in two to three years.
Houston said over 11,000 people signed up to vote in the leadership race, with 9,000 people voting.
