Wayne Melanson announced his intention to run for District 5 of the Municipality of the County of Antigonish in the upcoming municipal election, set for October 19.
Born and raised in the district, Melanson says his Acadian heritage is a great source of pride. He has served as a volunteer member of the Pomquet and area Fire Department, as well as working as a mechanic.
Melanson said he looks forward to hearing from and meeting with residents to learn about their concerns and priorities, adding his goal is to listen, build on what makes District 5 great, and address issues that matter most to residents.
