The Pictou County Weeks Crushers of the Maritime Junior Hockey League have named two 
assistant coaches with local ties for the upcoming season.
Garrett Lambke of Antigonish is no stranger to the Crushers, playing three seasons with the team. He played a big role in the Crushers’ 2016 league championship season. Lambke served as an assistant coach for two seasons in Under 15 with the Novas before joining the Cape Breton West Islanders of the of the Nova Scotia Under 18 Major Hockey League.
Kieran Peters of New Glasgow is a Weeks Under 18 alumnus, played at the Hill Academy and four seasons at Assumption University in NCAA Division 3. At Assumption he won a Northeast 10 conference championship. He was also an assistant captain in his fourth year at Assumption.
