The Town and County of Antigonish have released a statement regarding consolidation.
In a shared statement, The Mayor and the Warden of Antigonish noted they received calls from MLA Michelle Thompson on Wednesday evening to inform them that without a decision on the court case, the province will not be introducing the special legislation requested to consolidate the Town and County during the Fall sitting of the Legislature.

While expressing disappointment in the legislation not going forward this Fall, both the Mayor and Warden stated they expected the province would be awaiting a decision on the court action against the County before moving forward.
