indoor sports during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the support from the provincial government, the complex now has removable flooring that can be placed on top of one-third of the existing turf in the facility. It’s an alternative to gym flooring and can be used for sports like volleyball and basketball.
The board and staff of the complex decided to move ahead with the project as many indoor sports groups didn’t have a facility for training during the pandemic.
The flooring is currently on rent from a facility in New Brunswick, but it’s hoped this project will highlight the need for this type of surface in Pictou County.
