Antigonish Town CAO Randy Delorey offered an update on traffic work underway in the area.
Two of the major projects are nearing completion, noted Delorey, pointing first to the work on West Street from Highway 4 to the James Street Intersection. Delorey said asphalt is down, with sidewalk work left to finish up, which the CAO said is weather dependent. As for the Bay Street project, which is the work on the Eastern end of Main Street, Delorey said asphalt went down Tuesday night, with a little bit more to do followed by landscaping and finishing work.
The St. Ninian work is due for completion in mid-September.
Delorey said the current phase of the Bay Street project runs from the bridge to the train tracks. Phase 2 of the Bay Street Project will include work on the hospital side of the train tracks, with Delorey noting that side will be rebuilt and resurfaced. Delorey said that side is in operational maintenance mode for this year, noting pot holes there will be assessed and patched by staff as part of their overall servicing of road maintenance in the town.
