X-Men Add Two Players to Fall Line-up

Mar 23, 2020 | Sports

The St. FX Hockey X-Men have added a couple of recruits for next season, who both played for the QMJHL’s Charlottetown Islanders this past season.

One is Sackville, New Brunswick native Ethan Crossman, a 195-pound, 5 foot-11 left winger. Crossman tallied 13 goals and added 22 assists, while splitting his time with Chicoutimi and later Charlottetown. He was also a member of the Memorial Cup Champion team Bathurst Titan in 2018 and was invited to the Carolina Hurricanes rookie camp in 2019. Crossman also has a connection to St. FX, his mother was a nursing grad from the school. He says her experience at St. FX had a significant impact on his decision to come to Antigonish. He will be studying business in the fall

Also joining the X-Men this fall is Islanders Captain Brendon Clavelle, a 195 pound, 5-foot-11 defenceman from Kapuskasing, Ontario. He had 20 points for the Islanders this season, including two goals. Coach Brad Peddle says Clavelle is a good defender and plays a hard, competitive game and brings outstanding leadership and character to the X-Men.

Clavelle and Crossman join previously announced recruit Patrick Kyte, a defenceman from Pembroke, Ontario.
