A golf resort in Inverness is closing a month early this year.
Traditionally the courses, which include Cabot Links, Cabot Cliffs and the new 10 hole par
three The Nest would operate until the end of October. The operator of the three courses, Cabot Cape Breton, says its last day of operations will be September 27th.
Border restrictions imposed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic led to cancellations from golf tourists outside the Atlantic region and internationally, key markets for the property.
Cabot Cape Breton General Manager Andrew Alkenbrack says while it’s been a disappointing season, it will use October to tackle a number of projects to make the resort even better.
Alkenbrack says on the plus side this season, it’s had a significant number of first-time guests from Atlantic Canada, a region that historically has been 15 to 20 per cent of its market.
