Fire Strikes Large House With Three Apartments in New Glasgow

An early morning fire has displaced nine people in New Glasgow. The fire struck a large house containing three apartments.

One of the tenants is in hospital for treatment of burns and smoke inhalation.

Canadian Red Cross volunteers have arranged emergency lodging, food and clothing purchases and some other essentials for the other seven adults and one child who escaped unhurt.

The cause of the fire on Chisholm Street is under investigation.
