Local Schools included in Education Department’s Capital Plan

Trades programming is about the get a boost at some local schools.

The Nova Scotia Department of Education and Early Childhood development released its 2019-2024 Nova Scotia School Capitol plan today. The plan includes new schools and major renovations to existing schools.

Local schools seeing some work include East Antigonish Education Centre, Cape Breton Highlands Education Centre and Academy, and North Nova Education Centre. All three schools are set to receive skilled trades facilities. The completion target for North Nova is 2020-21 while the date for the other two schools is 2021-22.

Major school renovations in progress include Frank H. MacDonald Elementary and Ecole Acadienne de Pomquet, both with completion targets of 2019-2020.
