Originally from Glace Bay, Liberal candidate Mike Kelloway lives in Sydney River and works as the community innovation lead for the Marconi and Strait Area campuses of the Nova Scotia Community College. Kelloway is a founding member of Bay it Forward, a community group aiming to revitalize Glace Bay that also plays a role in doctor recruitment.
Throughout his career and volunteer life, Kelloway said he put an emphasis on serving the community and says running is an extension of that work. He says he is running because he cares and wants to give back.
As for what he sees as the major issues in the coming election, Kelloway said he visited 30 communities since May. He said people told him about challenges surrounding health care, economic development, as well as internet and cell coverage in some areas.
Kelloway said he looks forward to meeting as many constituents as possible
