Provincial New Democrats brought their Prosperity Shared Commission to Antigonish last night. The commission is visiting six communities across the province where local residents are invited to discuss the challenges they face and point out community-led initiatives that make the area a better place to live.
The party’s caucus chair Susan LeBlanc says a common thread they’re hearing is income inequality.
At the Antigonish meeting, LeBlanc says they heard from residents who shared their struggles to make ends meet, the need for more affordable housing, and rural transportation concerns.
