Oct 23, 2019 | Local News

RCMP say charges have been laid after someone pointed a gun at a woman and her family while they were in a car in Port Hood. Inverness RCMP say the incident occurred shortly before 6:30 last night. Police say the woman knew the suspect. She fled the area in her car and hear the gun discharge four times into the air as she drove away. No one was hurt.

Police surrounded a local home and later arrested a man as he attempted to leave the area in his car. RCMP say a loaded shotgun was seized from the back seat of the vehicle. A 48-year-old man is facing firearms related charges and will be appearing in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court today. RCMP will also be seeking a warrant to search the home.
