The Pictou County Chamber of Commerce heard this morning from a local native who turned
Art Sutherland of Accent Refrigeration Speaking to the Pictou County Chamber of Commerce in Stellarton
his refrigeration training from a Truro trade school into a global business. Art Sutherland, originally from Stellarton is a leader in ice rink refrigeration. He is president of Accent Refrigeration; his Victoria, BC company has completed projects for private, public, university and professional facilities. Sutherland says his company has completed projects far beyond Canada’s borders.
He has also consulted in each Olympic Winter Games since 2002. Sutherland credits a lot of his success to his work as a journneyman mechanic early in career, learning about the ice rink industry travelling through the prairies and the north. Sutherland says his company had rather modest beginnings; designing, installing and servicing ice rinks on Vancouver Island.
