A local company has submitted the lowest bid for a gravel patching contract along three sections in Cumberland and Pictou Counties.
S. W. Weeks Contracting posted the low tender of 95-thousand 826 dollars.
Four other companies provided estimates.
A contract has been awarded to a local group for gravelling and repaving through Guysborough County. The work will be done by S.W Weeks Contracting and will be fore 4 tenths of a km on Old Riverside Road and Falkland Lane Northerly. The contract was awarded for 289 thousand dollars.
Two local companies have submitted the lowest bids for projects in Guysborough County. Tenders closed on both projects last Friday.
SW Weeks Contractors posted the lowest tender of 2.7 million dollars for two projects along Route 316, involving bridge structure design and building, as well as paving and repaving. One was for a 6 kilometre section from Coddles Harbour Bridge to Drumhead Wharf Road. The other was for less than one kilometre along West Brook Bridge Wharf Road.
Alva Construction submitted the lowest bid of 1.7 million dollars for work on the Harnish Bridge, including the approaches on Dover Road.
The tenders for both projects are expected to be awarded by the province shortly
