RCMP say two people have died in a two vehicle head-on collision Thursday evening on Highway
344 in the Manchester area of Guysborough County.
RCMP Sergeant Andrew Joyce say police were notified of the crash shortly before 7:30 p.m. Thursday. When Police, Fire and EHS personnel arrived on the scene, they found a pick-up truck and a van very heavily damaged.
The driver of the van, a 64-year-old woman from Guysborough County, and the driver of the pick-up, a 53-year-old man from Cape Breton Regional Municipality were pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
A collision reconstructionist was on the scene, and the investigation is continuing. Highway 344 was closed for a several hours, reopening around one a.m. Friday
